Zanthoxylum oil is mainly prepared by the following methods:

1. The limitations of the above method are large, mainly because the oil temperature is not easy to grasp. If the oil temperature is too low, water is not easy to separate, easy to lead to oil rancidity, and the effective ingredients can not be fully dissolved, only part of the oil, resulting in waste and high product cost, lack of market competitiveness. 2. This method also has defects, one is that the solvent residue problem leads to the product aroma is not pure. Second, the volatilization of the solvent in the heating process increases the cost of the product virtually, and causes a certain degree of pollution to the atmospheric environment.

3. Supercritical CO2 extraction method: Use liquid CO2 to extract the active ingredients in Zanthoxylum, that is, Zanthoxylum essential oil, and then with edible vegetable oil. This method is more advanced, and the quality of Zanthoxylum oil produced is better, but there are the following defects: First, in the picking season of Zanthoxylum, the daily amount of fresh Zanthoxylum treated by this method is limited. The temperature of the method is 35-40℃, the extraction time is long, and the daily processing capacity is not large, so the method is not suitable for the large-scale production of zanthoxylum flower harvest season. Second, when the method is used to extract fresh prickly ash, it is necessary to crush or press the prickly ash peel together with the prickly ash seed. Because the prickly ash seed contains high acid value and bitter taste, it is easy to increase the acid value of the product and change the flavor.
