Product description:

Quercetin, also known as quercetin or quercetin, was discovered by Hungarian physiologist Szent Gyorgyi in 1936. Melting point 314 ℃, soluble in ethanol, methanol, ethyl acetate, glacial acetic acid, pyridine, acetone, etc., insoluble in water, benzene, ether, chloroform, petroleum ether, etc. Alkaline aqueous solution is yellow, almost insoluble in water, and has a bitter taste. It can be used as a medicine and has good expectorant and cough relieving effects, as well as certain anti asthma effects.

Quercetin has a wide range of sources and is widely present in the stems, flowers, leaves, buds, seeds, and fruits of many plants. At present, its preparation methods include extraction and separation, acid hydrolysis, enzymatic conversion, etc. Among them, enzymatic conversion is the most practical.

In 1999, quercetin, along with dental materials, saccharin and its salts, was included in the list of three carcinogens by the World Health Organization, along with tea, caffeine, and chlorinated drinking water. In 2017, the Institute of Safety Evaluation of the Chinese Academy of Food and Drug Control preliminarily compiled the list based on this. In 2010, the FDA designated quercetin, which is processed and produced from natural products, as a GRAS substance.
